New Year Day hike set

Well, our annual New Year’s Day hike will be an old favorite of ours this year, Mt. Kearsarge in Warner. It’s only 2,937 feet, but affords spectacular views of the Whites to the north and all of Southern NH to the south. We put the invite out to our whole crazy crew of misfits, so we’ll see who’s interested. The roads to the trailheads will be closed this time of year, so we’ll have to snowshoe to the base, but it’ll be easy going. The weather up there can be vicious, as this self-portrait Dan took at the summit a couple years ago attests, but we’ll hope for the best. Either way, it’ll be a great way to start 2010.

Dan at the summit of Mt. Kearsarge. Yup, it was cold.

Before that, we have a visit to Meena’s brother in NYC over Christmas on tap, and then the Londonderry Millennium Mile to run on Dec. 27. And someplace in there, we need to go shopping! Busy, busy.
