Sorry about the post silence today, folks, reception is pretty sketchy in the interior of The Kanc. And that’s where I was today, bagging two more peaks, South and North Hancock – numbers 32 and 33, respectively!
It was a beautiful day for a hike and the colors are starting to turn.
Only one small incident marred an otherwise perfect day – a group of four young hikers had monopolized the viewpoint atop South Hancock and were making enough noise to hear nearly a half mile down the ridge. One of them was playing music on his iPhone that echoed all the way down the valley.
I’m glad they were enjoying the day, but just because you have made it to the top of a peak, does not mean you own the mountain. That’s all I’ll say about that.
Anyway, looking ahead, tomorrow might bring one more solo, perhaps Mt. Cabot, and then it’s the home stretch.
Until then, this is Dan signing off from the White Mountains!
