47 down, 1 to go!

Glorious Owl's Head Mountain is awash in fall color!

Here we go!

Friends, tomorrow at 10 a.m I will set off with a small group of close hiking friends to attempt a tag of Mt. Tecumseh. This short hike, 4.4 miles, will cap this amazing month as our 48th peak.

I apologize for not updating this site with trip reports this last week, but it’s been a difficult and long challenge to get to this point and more often than not I’ve bene too tired or too wrapped up in planning to focus on updates.

In the last week, we’ve tagged 12 peaks in 6 days for a total of about 70 miles. Our numbers so far are: 47 peaks, 19 hiking days, 220 miles! Only Tecumseh remains!

After the hike, we’ll have a small Trail-gate party at 3:30 p.m. in the Waterville Valley Ski area parking lot, followed by a campfire in Whitefield. We’d love to see you at those if you’re interested! Let me know and I’ll pass along directions.

Until then, please stop by our picture site for our complete albums of the last week, all of which are posted by date in their untouched and raw form.

You can check those out here: http://danandmeenakshi.phanfare.com/

It’s been a challenging, wonderful, tiring, campaign and we’re almost there! Thank you all for your kind comments and support. Look for a wrap up tomorrow and invites to all of you to a slide show and presentation soon!

Until then, this is Dan, signing off one last time from the White Mountains!

The summit of Mt. Moosilauke was a difficult and challenging place during a rainstorm!
