Dan is an avid hiker and member of the AMC’s 4,000 footer club. In September 2011, he hiked all 48 of New Hampshire’s highest peaks in 20 days to raise money for the Holy Cross Family Learning Center.
He’s the associate publisher of HippoPress, a weekly arts and entertainment newspaper located in southern New Hampshire. When he’s not hiking, he can often be found at home watching Bollywood movies.
His trailname came about for two reasons. First, Buffalo, NY is his hometown. Second, after a close encounter with a buffalo on the Centennial Trail in South Dakota that resulted in his running away from the oncoming creature, his wife, Meena, decided irony was the way to go and picked his name for him.
